city with foundations

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went....  For he looked for the city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God....  These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth....  Now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.  (Hebrews 11.8,10,13,16 KJV)

I made this wallpaper as a bit of encouragement while reading depressing antifoundationalist pseudo-theology for my ethics class.  I used GIMP to add the text to the image, which comes from the fresco shown below, by the fourteenth-century Italian painter Simone Martini.  You are welcome to download this wallpaper for your personal computer, but please don't re-post it on your own blog.  Note also that this permission applies only to the image above; as always, you are not allowed to use any of my photographs for any reason whatsoever without my permission.  You are, however, welcome to share links to my posts.  (To download the wallpaper, choose 'Download' near the upper left corner here; it fits a 1366 x 768 screen resolution.)
